Questions for the Queen

What was your favorite moment while being crowded the Queen of personal sales (Ruby Division)?

When they announced the name of the first runner-up I knew I was going to be the queen. I looked at my national sales director and we couldn’t believe it had happened. A year of hard work and dedication paid off. Seconds later they called my name.

They brought the crown over to me then the U.S. President of Mary Kay, Darryl Overcash took my arm, guided me across the stage then up the stairs to the throne.

What gifts did you receive for being the Queen?

I received a miniature red throne. A diamond bumblebee with pink accents, a crown necklace and broach with diamond and rubies, and an amethyst ring. Of course I also took home a crown and a dozen pink roses.

"It was an overwelming moment!"After you were crowned you spoke to the thousands of Mary Kay Consultants and Directors in the arena. What did you say?

To be honest I don’t remember exactly. The moment was simply overwhelming. I know I talked about how a year ago I made a decision with my husband and family to expand my business and give Mary Kay my all. I contacted all my customers, told them I needed their help and most of them placed an order.

Customer service is the key to great relationships and a customer’s loyalty. It’s my job to make the customer feel important. This is a great company and opportunity for women. Several women that have come before me have made this possible.

I also thanked my family, my husband and said I am doing this for my girls. My girls are very important to me and are my first priority. This company has allowed me to spend my time at home with my girls while working this business.

What were the keys to your success?

Consistently working my business and at customer service.

Family support is also a key. I could not have done it without them.

Having products on hand so it can be immediately given to customers is also vital.

What advice would you give other consultants or someone considering becoming a consultant?

I would ask them “Why they want to do Mary Kay? Do they have a good work ethic? Are they committed to good customer service?”

I believe you have to be committed to the product and company.

You have to be dedicated and strive to give great customer service.

Mary Kay is not just about money. It’s making friends and building relationships that will last a lifetime.
